PREVENTIVE CARE AND EMERGENCIES
You can call us for your horse’s routine physical exams, seasonal vaccinations, Coggins test (EIA), dental floating, McMaster fecal egg count, microchip application, health certificates, and much more—including international health certificates and assistance with maintaining your horse’s FEI passport and FEI Horse App. We also offer in-house complete blood counts and chemistry panels, allowing for quick turnaround on bloodwork and timely clinical decision-making. Biannual examinations are recommended and are an essential component of keeping your horse as healthy as possible, whether they are a pet or a competitive athlete. We are also available for emergencies 24/7, seven days a week, for our established clientele.
SPORTS MEDICINE & LAMENESS EXAMINATION
Our goal is to keep our equine athletes sound and competing comfortably and successfully. We offer thorough lameness examinations. Often diagnostics are needed to help localize the lameness. These may include AI motion analysis,
peri-neural/intra-articular analgesia, digital radiography and/or ultrasound examination. After we have established a diagnosis, we offer a variety of medical and surgical treatments which are discussed on a case-by-case basis. Teamwork is essential in all equine athlete’s careers. We work closely with our clients, their trainers, as well as their farriers to provide the best care.
PRE-PURCHASE /
PRE-LEASE EXAMINATION
A pre-purchase / pre-lease examination is strongly recommended prior to buying or leasing a horse. This exam consists of physical, respiratory, neurological, ophthalmic and lameness examinations. Additional diagnostics include digital radiography, ultrasound exam, blood work, drug screening, upper airway endoscopy, McMaster fecal egg count, Coggins test and any other diagnostic requested or recommended prior to purchase release. We encourage the buyer to customize their future horse’s examination based on their goals and plans. We are not here to pass or fail a horse but rather to discuss and explain the findings in hopes to help the buyer make an informed and educated decision.
DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING
We offer the latest technology in portable diagnostic imaging with cordless state of the art digital radiography and ultrasonography. These imaging modalities aid in the diagnosis of orthopedic, soft tissue and other pathologies.
REGENERATIVE MEDICINE
In addition to traditional medical treatments for joints and soft tissue injuries, we also offer a wide range of regenerative medicine therapies. These include Alpha 2-Macroglobulin (A2M), Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), ProStride (APS), Stem Cell Therapy, Intra-articular Polyacrylamides, and Pegasus Orthobiologics.

ELECTIVE SURGERY
Dr. Axel Beccar Varela a board-certified large animal surgeon is available for surgical consultations. He performs a variety of elective surgeries including arthroscopy, laparoscopy, upper airway surgery with or without laser assistance, as well as many other surgical procedures on a regular basis.

ENDOSCOPY
Endoscopic procedures allow us to examine internal structures of your horse in a minimally invasive way. Using a small, flexible camera, we can visualize areas such as the respiratory tract, and stomach in real time. We offer a range of endoscopic procedures, including upper airway endoscopy and gastroscopy, to support accurate diagnosis across a variety of conditions. This technology is commonly used during both routine evaluations and more advanced diagnostic workups. We are proud to have equine internist Dr. Liza Fultz on our team, providing advanced expertise to support thorough diagnosis and case management when it comes to your horses' internal health.
EXTRACORPOREAL SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
Shockwave therapy is a treatment modality used in a variety of equine athletes. This non-invasive treatment uses electrohydraulic technology that delivers true shockwaves. This helps to stimulate the healing for soft tissue, muscle, and bone.
